Museum Collections

Several museums in the U.K. have excellent collections of Lancastrian pottery.
Intending visitors need to note, however, that not all have items on display. 

It is essential that you check before travelling any distance because displays change frequently and the details below may not be accurate.

Bolton About 80 pieces quite unusual. Bolton has a collection of lapis and stoneware as well as some fine lustres. They have some very large lapis pieces and some highly unusual "carved" ware.

Cannon Hall (Barnsley) Small collection but excellent items - includes some rare tile panels similar to ware exhibited in Paris and Wolverhampton at the turn of the century C1900. Includes Walter Crane design "Bon Accorde".

Manchester City Art Gallery Large collection of about 300+ wares excellent early examples and tremendous lustre ware.

Manchester Metropolitan Museum 
- now in the Manchester Metropolitan University collection.
Small collection stored around the city - early examples found in Graves' exhibition.

Salford City Art Gallery and Museum About 250 items - some very unusual and rare also a very important Forsyth vase the "Peace" vase.
